11th
November 2016
I was so young, I cannot recall the first Remembrance Day ceremony I attended, perhaps it was when I was four months old in 1961. Growing up it was a tradition to attend the local War Memorial and associated church service on Remembrance Sunday. It was always a very important and relevant occasion for my family, which was kept strong by my dad.

During both World Wars five members of our family
went off to war, only one returned. The survivor who came home from WWI, later lost
his only son to WWII.
For me
November 11th is the most important date on the calendar and it is on this day
you will always find me at a Remembrance Service.
The photos
below are from two locations in Halifax, the downtown ceremony and the nearby Navy Memorial at
Pleasant Park.
