On this
bright warm first day of October, I had an eventful wander on Crescent Beach.
The clouds
were extremely low, I am not sure I have ever seen such a sight before, it felt
like I could reach out and touch them. There was a number heavy gray ones that
produced the occasional sun shower, which is definitely a first for me on any
beach wander in NS.
With the
tide only 30 minutes from its afternoon high, I came across the panicked owner
of a car that would not start. It was new, she only picked it from the dealer
in the morning, and now after its first outing, it was completely dead with the
water only a few feet away. Incredibly, this was the third time I have been
involved in such an incident with stubborn cars on Crescent Beach, amazingly on each occasion the tide was coming in fast.
A call was
made to the dealer, who then rushed from Bridgewater, arriving just before the
front wheels were about to get wet. He boosted the car with a portable power
pack, which then fortunately started, soon afterwards the car was driven
through the shallows to safety.
In addition
to that, I did manage to take some cloud photos, together with a couple of my
feathered buddies. I did get rather wet taking one of those pics, when a wave
came in further than I figured it would ~
