Lots of Seafoam, Seaweed and a one-legged Sandpiper ...

The last two days here in Lunenburg County have been absolutely stunning, creating the marvelous and most welcome sound of meltwater flowing within the house downpipes, on its short journey via the adjacent ditches to the saltwater of the LaHave River.

Today with the temperatures reaching 18°C, I was out early this morning for perhaps the best beach wander of the year. I arrived at Crescent Beach a couple of hours before high tide, to be met with lots of sea foam and the occasional large bundle of seaweed. In both directions of my wander, I was thoroughly entertained by a one-legged Sandpiper, who could hop along the beach shallows as quickly as his two-legged buddies ~ I was really impressed …
