Treasure hunting across the river ...

With the low tide predicted to occur this afternoon at 12.37pm, I thought it would be a good idea to visit Sand Dollar Beach, which is located on the other side of the Lahave River from Pleasantville.

Visiting Sand Dollar when the tide is coming in and approaching its high is never a good idea, as most of the beach is under water. But when the tide is going out, the beach is considered a hot spot for sand dollars, sea shells, and other treasures that are usually left behind ~ unfortunately none were found today, that could be added to my collection.

After a Sand Dollar wander, I went off to Hirtles Beach, where the waves were putting on a grand show. After this, I took my favourite route home via the high seas on the LaHave Ferry.

Below are today’s pics, with two others, one showing part of my “treasure” collection and another with a Sand Dollar ....

It may be a good black & white outing …..

This morning was a two beach wander with the first stop at Crescent then afterwards onto Rissers. At both beaches there appeared to be a certain level of swiftness to the tide, it seemed to be in a hurry to get to its late afternoon high long before it should. Above me, the clouds looking rather intriguing and heavy, while the water had lots of choppy movements, which offered some interesting highlights, all this made me think it may be a good black and white outing …..

A beautiful morning beach wander …

I can honestly say, even if it is chucking it down with rain, or I have a -20°C windchill blasting in my face ~ I have never had a bad beach wander. I have lots of good ones, well actually they have all been good, but this morning it was really good, the best (so far) this year.

With the tide was on its way out, it was silent, warm and no wind. I sat on some of my favourite rocks, to take in the peaceful beauty of it all and loved every minute of it …
