Apparently the overnight temperature in Pleasantville dropped
to about -24°C ~ rather chilly.
With the arrival of the morning, I was encouraged by
the bright blue clear sky to take a drive down the LaHave River for a wander
on the islands and Rissers beach. As is often the case for this time of the
year, a winter bright blue sky can mean it is ~ rather chilly.
The frozen Lahave River looked extremely bright in the
morning sunshine and so too did the islands, but when I got to Rissers the clouds
where moving in, the wind was picking up and with that it was ~ rather chilly,
in fact so cold I aborted the intended wander and came home for a lovely bowl
of porridge.
That truly is the polite way of saying it's freakin' cold!!! Been a long time since I've seen the LaHave frozen...when we lived here before, the river was frozen a lot (not enough to drive a car up to B'water from Riverport, as one of our neighbours told us they used to do) and there would be a channel from one side to the other that was open...where the ferry ran every 1/2 hour!
