For a while now I have had thoughts of doing a six beach wander .....
With the weather forecast promising another warm day, I packed a lunch and was out early
to do my personal “Six Beach Challenge”. The beaches on my challenge in order were
~ Beach Meadows, White Point, Summerville, Cherry Hill, Rissers and Crescent.
Although by
the end of the day, I did get to visit all six beaches, I only managed to walk the
first three of them. The challenge failed due to an unfortunate incident on the
rocks at White Point where I injured my right ankle.
Beach
Meadows ~
A long
white sand beach with views of Coffin Island.
White Point
Beach ~
Big waves and great rocks …!!!
Summerville
Beach ~
With my ankle throbbing just a little bit, I did complete my wander on Summerville.
Cherry Hill
Beach ~
By late
afternoon I arrived at Cherry Hill to be met by the best conditions of the
day. With no hint of a wind, the sun shining lower in the sky, it was absolutely
beautiful, just as it always seems to be on any visit to Cherry Hill Beach.
With my ankle telling me that it was not too happy, I only went to the water’s edge and sat on a rock while admiring the tranquil surroundings.
Rissers
Beach ~
In a similar way to Cherry Hill I did not venture far, only enough to take some pics.
Crescent
Beach ~
If I had done my challenge, this final beach would have been the longest wander, but alas limping to the water’s edge I just managed the following quick pics …
Perhaps next summer I will have another attempt at my six beach challenge, but only concentrate on the actual beach wanders rather than my favourite pastime of climbing and running over rocks ~ I reckon that idea could be more of a challenge ...!!!!
Now for another icepack.
