Gaff Point again ….

Early last month I went for a hike to Gaff Point and said in the blog I wrote about it ~ “I may go back again during mid to late October to see what the fall colours look on the trail” ~ well today was the day and what a fantastic outing it was. The weather was sunny and warm, which made it all so perfect. It was so good and enjoyable, I may go back again next month for another hike.

The day started with a drive along the LaHave River, which was due to the absence of the LaHave Ferry which is currently away for its five year refit, and finished up in Lunenburg at the Knot Pub, for what I believe could be the best Fish & Chips in the South Shore ….

Past their best …..

On what was another bright and warm day, and with the fall colours close to their peak, it was a wonderfully colourful drive north to Indian Falls. But with much disappointment it was a week or so too late to catch the bright autumn colours at the falls and river, the leaves were unfortunately past their peak.

Below is a link to a previous blog from an October 2022 visit to Indian Falls, which was a little bit more colourful ~ click on the image or link ....

Back ponds and other things ….

With the tide just turning from its morning high, it was ideal for a wonderful wander on Cherry Hill Beach. As usual for any visit to Cherry Hill, it is always a must to go a little further to see what I call the back ponds. Today with the bright and warm conditions, they were offering up some very nice colours in the water.

Also to keep the day perfect, some of the migratory birds were still on the beach to provide me with some photo challenges. I was surprised to see so many still around, in past years they have been gone by late September.

Today’s pics ….
