"Billy"
My mother's budgie "Billy" is another
member of the family, he is unable to stay at
her residence, so he is with us.

The power of the ocean
I
have always loved the sea, growing up in Scotland I had access to it at any
time, but took it all for granted. Later I lived in Northern Spain on the Bay of
Biscay where I often witnessed with joy and excitement some of the fiercest weather conditions the Atlantic
Ocean could provide. I came to Canada and lived almost thirty years in Ontario every
day without the sea, I really missed it. Now I have the sea back in my life, I will never leave it again ….

John F. Kennedy said in September 1962 ~
"I
really don’t know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except
I think it’s because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the
light changes, and ships change, it’s because we all came from the sea. And it
is an interesting biological fact that all of us have, in our veins the exact
same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore,
we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the
ocean. And when we go back to the sea – whether it is to sail or to watch it –
we are going back from whence we came"
Peggy's Cove in sepia
When
the subject suits, I like to take photos in Sepia. I find our local area provides
lots of opportunities to capture a mood within photos that could be described as a visual hangover from the past.
Below is a selection of Sepia pics taken at Peggy’s Cove.

Bush Island on ice
8th January 2017
A few photos ofBush Island
on a snowy cold day. We did venture onto the adjacent Bell Island
and got stuck in the snow. With every effort to free us from this
dilemma, "UGA 742H" was just getting deeper into the drifts.
Fortunately four guys on their ATVs' came by and with lots of coordinated
muscle we got out.
No photos of the incident ...!!!!
