An early morning hike.

"Early morning" now has a completely different meaning within this chapter of my life when compared to the last one, I definitely much prefer it now ....
Today it was a relatively early rise for a hike on Gaff Point with the South Shore's other Scotsman Alan.
An absolutely beautiful morning, very warm, still and calm. When we arrived at Hirtles Beach the tide was probably at its high, the sun was low which provided perfect backdrop of light conditions to enhance the lovely fall colours.

Falls in fall

Out and about again today on a double beach wander to Crescent and Rissers. I came across this little water fall on Rissers Beach.

It's starting .............

The fall colours are now very much in their infancy, as it progresses it will get a little more stunning around here. Below are some close up photos of the colours taken in the backyard and some others of a handsome neighbour of ours.

You know you are in Nova Scotia ....

…… when you're the only person on the beach.

A drive down the LaHave River to Rissers Beach on a stunningly warm bright afternoon. The beach is actually part of a provincial park which is only frequented by us during the tourist off season (Never pay to visit a beach …!!!). So today was I am sure, the first of many October through June visits to this very pleasant location.
At low tide while wandering over the rocks I came across a few Monarch butterflies filling up on some plants before their long journey back to Mexico for the winter. Perhaps one of them is guy from April’s post “Foggy Wander” …? ~ https://southshoretidewatch.blogspot.ca/2017/04/a-foggy-wander.html

Lots of "Sand Dollars" on the beach today

A wee visit also to the LaHave Islands
